Hello Russel and Crystal,
If you'll email me privately we can chat and try to ascertain what breed of rabbit you have. ;)

Hello, We read that the Alaska breed is vanishing, and that it has been dropped from some lists as an American breed due to the scarcity. We have just acquired what we believe is an Alaska doe, black with chocolate brown eyes and toenails, buff colored on the bottom. Can you give us any information as to special needs to keep this breed going and healthy? She is so beautiful and soft. We are novices and know nothing really about rabbit care. Thanks for your help.
Reply Very nice site!

Hello Sue! I recommend you check the A.R.B.A. website for a complete listing of shows in your area (see our links page). Attending shows as a spectator is great fun for the whole family! Just show up. One word of warning... you'll be hooked! Shows are the perfect place to connect with breeders in your area, research which breeds are right for you, and take in all the gorgeous rabbits there are. Have fun! smile

Hello - I am going to join this club! I have Blue Americans and Blanc de Hotots in Oregon. As a newbie I thought that the only meat breeds were Cals and NZs, and we need to dispell this common thought! Rare rabbits are more fun and satisfying to raise.
